THE ANALYSIS LABORATORY

REPUR is equipped with an internal laboratory capable of carrying out all the typical determinations of activated carbon. Among these we include:

• Iodine index

• Methylene blue index

• Butane index

• apparent density

• total ash

• pH

• humidity

• granulometry

• TGA (Thermogravimetric analysis)

• substances extractable in water and acid etc.

Tests are normally carried out on spent coal to verify its reactivability and index recovery. The laboratory occupies n. 3 people including a chemistry graduate. Given the importance of having reliable data at all times, both with a view to feed back on plant parameters and with regard to the characteristics of incoming exhausted coals, such as those of reactivated coals, Repur attributes decisive importance to '' reliability of its laboratory and has continued over time to enrich it with equipment and methodologies aimed at obtaining increasingly reliable data and subtracted, as far as possible, from human error, without forgetting, at the same time, to take care of the continuous training of laboratory staff in order to make him aware of the best techniques and the most up-to-date procedures.
